
FRESHMAN PREVIEW INFORMATION
What can I expect at Preview?
This is a tentative schedule. Students and parents attend sessions together unless noted otherwise.
8:00 a.m., Check-In, Ted Constant Convocation Center. Includes coffee and danishes.
8:30 a.m., Welcome
9:00 a.m., Student Group Meetings and Parent/Guest Meetings
9:30 a.m., College Presentations
11:00 a.m., Break-Out Sessions
12:30 p.m., Lunch & Organizations & Services Fair
1:30 p.m., Pre-Registration Technology Workshops (Students ) and Parent Programs (Parents only)
2:00 p.m., Course Registration (Students only) and Parent Programs (Guests only).
**Between 3-5pm, There's an opportunity to speak with a financial aid representative and optional tours of Whitehurst Hall.
5:00 p.m., Program concludes (approximate time)
How much does it cost to bring a guest?
There is a $50 fee for each guest you bring to Preview, which should be paid when you register. To make an online reservation, you may pay with a credit or bank card with a Visa or MasterCard logo. To pay by check/money order, contact our office at preview@odu.edu or 757-683-3428
to request a hard copy of the brochure and reservation form.
When is it held?
Preview dates fill on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to make a reservation early. Any travel arrangements and/or hotel reservations should be made after you've registered for the event. Keep in mind that you'll enjoy greater flexibility while choosing classes if you attend an earlier Preview.

Housing and Residence Life invite families to stay overnight, a day or two prior to your scheduled Preview day or a few days after your Preview day, in a residence hall suite (Ireland House). The rate for overnight accommodation is $80 per night(taxes and fees included). Amenities include a suite with mini-refrigerator, private bathroom, linens, and wireless Internet access. Please allow Housing and Residence Life to prepare for your arrival. The reservation form is accepted seven days prior to your scheduled Preview date.
What should I bring to Preview?
Please bring your MIDAS ID and password, your University ID Number (UIN), a print-out of transfer credits (if applicable), and a photo ID to get your student ID card, pen and paper. We encourage you to dress warmly and in layers. It's very cold in the arena. You may also bring $20 (cash or check) to join the Monarch Maniacs (optional).
Where should I park?
Parking Garage D on 45th Street, between Hampton Boulevard and Monarch Way. This garage is located behind the Marriott SpringHill Suites. Avoid metered spaces. A staff member will direct you to the event.
