After making your Preview reservation, revisit this page for information on travel, parking, and overnight accommodations.

 

Need driving directions?

 

Click here for directions to Midyear or Transfer Preview. Click here for directions to Freshman Preview. Please allow extra time for traffic if you're approaching through the Midtown Tunnel, Downtown Tunnel, or Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. These areas are heavily congested during rush hour.

 

Need public transportation?

Airport Shuttle: Brown Airport Sedan Service. Contact (757) 857-3391.

Train: AMTRAK, Newport News. Ask about shuttle service to Norfolk (Monticello Avenue/ Virginia Beach Boulevard). Contact 1 (800) 872-7245.

Parking At Preview:

 

Transfer and Midyear Preview: Parking will be available in Parking Garage E on 49th Street at Bluestone Avenue (west side of Hampton Boulevard). Park on the second, third, or fourth floor. You don't need a parking permit to park in this garage during orientation. Please avoid faculty/staff, reserved, metered, or handicapped spaces unless you have the appropriate tag.

 

Freshman Preview: Parking is available in Parking Garage D on 45th Street, behind Marriott SpringHill Suites. You don't need a parking permit to park in this garage during orientation. Please avoid faculty/staff, reserved, metered, or handicapped spaces unless you have the appropriate tag. You can view Garage D on the campus map.

   

Need overnight accommodations?

 

This list of local hotels may help. Some offer special ODU rates, but keep in mind these may not apply on all nights. Contact each hotel for details.

 

SUMMER PREVIEW ONLY: What if I'd like to stay overnight in an on-campus residence hall?

 

Housing and Residence Life extend the opportunity to stay overnight in a residence hall suite (Ireland House) during the summer orientation season. The rate for overnight accommodation is $80 (taxes and fees included). Amenities: a suite, private bathroom, linens, and internet access (guests must bring their own computers). Please allow the department to prepare in advance for your arrival by returning the reservation form within 7 business days of your Preview date. If you are interested, please complete the reservation form for accomodations.
