Captain Jason S. Young

Assistant Professor of Military Science, earned a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2003. His assignments include Platoon Leader and Executive Officer for the 119th Cargo Transfer Company, 11th Transportation Battalion at Fort Story, Virginia. He also served as the Battalion S4 in garrison and while deployed to Camp Adder, Iraq and as a member of the Army Reserve Element at U.S. Joint Forces Command.

Captain Jackeline X. Johnson

Assistant Professor of Military Science, earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Park University, Missouri. Previous assignments include the Combined Air and Space Operations Center, Al Udeid, Air Base, Qatar, as a Liaison Officer for the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command; the 32nd AAMDC, Fort Bliss, TX as Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officer; 35th ADA Brigade, Fort Bliss as S-1; and Gwangju, Korea where she served as the Headquarters Platoon Leader. Prior to commissioning, CPT Johnson was assigned to the Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army Personnel Service Center at the Pentagon.

Lieutenant Colonel Brian D. Kerns

Professor of Military Science and Department Chair, earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina and a Master's degree in Military History at the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1992 in the Armor branch. His assignments include G3 for Training at Cadet Command, TRADOC, Fort Monroe, Virginia; Brigade Executive Officer, Fort Drum, New York; and Commander, Armor Battalion, Bosnia and Fort Stewart, Georgia. Also, he has served as the Cavalry Team Chief, 48th Infantry Brigade, Macon, Georgia.
