MBA Association Speaker Series with Tim Ryan

You Are Your Own Brand: The Art of Marketing and Networking

"One of the biggest challenges I faced when starting my business was transitioning from a large well established organization to an unknown startup.  To make things more difficult, I transitioned from the defense market to the commercial market.  In order to succeed, I needed to establish a network to help generate revenue."

-Tim Ryan, President/CEO of Arcphor Strategy

The MBA Association is pleased to invite you to our next Speaker Series event featuring Tim Ryan, CEO and President of Arcphor Strategy. Arcphor Strategy is a business strategy firm positioned to work with clients at any stage of their business lifecycle and in any capacity.  From startups to well-established organizations, the commercial to non-profit sector, we share a passion for success with each of our clients. You can find out more about Tim Ryan and his company here: http://www.arcphor.com

Tim will speak about the challenges businesses face today more than ever before. Perhaps you're starting a new business, transitioning into a new position or fear the possible effects of sequestration.  One of the biggest advantages is your network but only if you're able to leverage it properly. After co-founding Arcphor Strategy, I faced the challenge of leaving a large well-established organization into an unknown startup.  To make things more interesting, I transitioned from the defense sector into the commercial market.  In order to succeed, I needed to leverage and establish my network to survive. The truth is, you are your own brand and you never stop marketing yourself.  Without question social media continues to evolve the way we network, market and communicate, yet traditional methods are also required to effectively build your network. I will share with you my successes, my failures and what I've learned along the way.  That way, when you are faced with uncertainty it will be a time of opportunity opposed to a time of panic.

The MBA Association will provide free food and refreshments. As always, all ODU students, alumni, faculty, staff and anyone else interested in attending is welcome! Space is limited, so reserve your spot now!
