Associate Professor at Old Dominion University in the Department of Engineering Management & Systems Engineering (EMSE).  Prior to joining the faculty at Old Dominion, I was a R&D Director at Productivity Apex, Inc., Orlando, Florida. Prior to that, I was a Visiting Assistant professor at the University of Central Florida (UCF) for two years.  I received my Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from UCF and while pursuing my Ph.D., I worked at Lucent Technologies semiconductor fabs for three years. I have a M.S. and B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida and the University of Jordan in 1996 and 1992 respectively. In summer of 2003, I worked at NASA Langley Research Center as faculty fellow. I have been involved in research projects (mostly modeling, simulation, analysis, optimization, and scheduling) funded by NASA, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Virginia Port Authority (VPA), Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, MITRE Corporation, STIHL, CACI, and Sentara Hospitals. In summer 2008, I received the Fulbright Specialist Program award. My research and teaching interests include Operations Research, Scheduling, Simulation Modeling and Analysis, Applied Optimization, and Supply Chain Management and Logistics, where I taught graduate courses in these topics as well as short courses in Modeling and Simulation and Operations Planning and Scheduling. Currently, I am a Chief Editor for the International Journal of Planning and Scheduling. I also started the web site SchedulingResearch.com.
