Welcome to the ODU Vector Ecology Lab!
Dr. Holly Gaff is a mathematician who has stumbled into the wild world of field biology while trying to track down the right datasets to plug into her models. She and her lab use mathematical modeling and computer simulation to study infectious diseases, with a focus on ticks and tick-borne diseases.
Our lab combines field studies, molecular techniques, and mathematical modeling to learn about ticks and tick-borne diseases in southeastern Virginia and beyond.
Visit our lab Facebook page page to see more about our daily research adventures!
Come back soon to view and download our informational brochure on ticks and tick-borne diseases in Hampton Roads. Learn how to protect yourself from ticks, proper tick removal, common pathogens and the ticks they're associated with, and more!
