Purpose

To help us, as a class, explore the multiple ways technology gets represented in the public sphere.

Instructions

Bring an artistic representation of technology to class (e.g., a book, a DVD, an advertisement, a picture, a story) and present it to the class. For this very informal presentation you will...

• have 5-7 minutes
• describe what you are presenting
• talk aboout the metaphors that you see in the piece

After you have all presented, we will talk about the different representations of technology and how these may affect writers attitudes about composing with technology.
