Yi-Fan Chen’s research interest is to understand how the interplay between technologies and social processes affects interpersonal relationships, mass communication patterns, and the creation of cultural meaning.  Her current research has mainly focused on the impact of communication/media technologies in everyday life.  She has been involved in lots of research projects on mobile technology and socialization as well as mobile learning research projects.  She is the author of articles and chapters in mobile media, including Intercultural Communication Studies, International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, Journal of Cyber Culture and Information Society, and Handbook of Mobile Communication Studies.  She has attended several international conferences where she presented peer-reviewed papers.


Prior to her doctoral study, she taught various college courses in persuasion, journalism and mass communication in Taiwan.
