Hannah is a masters student in the Barshis lab. She is studying the temperate Northern Star Coral (Astrangia poculata), a species inhabiting hard bottom habitat from the Gulf of Mexico to Cape Cod. Her project aims to understand how a Virginia population of Astrangia poculata could potentially respond to increases in sea surface temperature, and how this response differs from other populations in the species' range.
