Getting Started

Purpose
To model how to use the rhetorical theory tables.

We will begin the course by looking together at how Aristotle introduces "rhetoric."

If you have the book we will be looking at pages 28-33; if not, you can look on with the web page. I will need eleven volunteers to read the numbered sections and the accompanying footnotes.

As we read through these sections, pay attention to the principles that are on the Rhetorical Principles Table. We will spend the latter part of the activity working together to fill in the table.
