Creating A Master Plan

Purpose  To create a plan that the entire class will use to fulfill the research project that the DLC has asked us to do.

Before Class

Research and Reporting Plan for DLC project. Bring four or five hard copies to class to share with group members. Bring one hard copy for the instructor. Print these off before class so we can get to work quickly,

As a Group

You will start the activity working in the following groups:

Group Students
1 Emily, Andy, Jade, Jo
2 Betty, Jennifer, Bethany, Eric, Anna
3 Chris, Tonia, Jessica, Ebony
4 S. Ellis, Doug, S. Elliot, Amy
  • Begin by skimming through each person's plan.
  • Your next step is to develop a master plan from the best features of each person's plan. You can 1) write or type up a new plan, or 2) mark up the master drafts in a way that it is clear what features should go in the master.
    • The main things you will want to pinpoint are...
      • the research questions
      • the groups and their tasks
      • the timeline
      • the resources the class will need
      • the documents that will need to be produced
  • You will have until 11am to put this part together.

As a Class

We will, as a class, use the next thirty minutes of class to discuss and debate a master plan for the entire class that comes out the master plans for each group. We will focus on the five components listed above. All students are expected to participate in this discussion.
