Peer Reading of Recommendation Report

The purpose of today's activity is give you an opportunity to get feedack from your peers about the best strategies for revising your recommendation report.

Before Class

  • Each group needs to bring five or six hard copies of your Rough Draft to class (one for the instructor and four or five to be peer reviewed; these drafts can be in black and white and stapled together)

During Class

  1. Exchange copies of your recommendation report (including the letter of transmittal) with each person in the following team

  2. Read over these documents paying close attention to how well the writers
    • respond to the client's needs,
    • explain and justify their research strategies,
    • analyze their data,
    • develop a viable argument or recommendation,
    • and explain how to enact the recommendation,
    • considers their audience,
    • drafts and designs a document that is easy to navigate and read (for further details see assignment criteria).

  3. Write an email addressed to the writers (see bottom the page) and cc: the instructor (pepepew@purdue.edu). In this formal email, provide feedback on this recommendation report. Remember to write a detailed email that refers to specific text in the writers' report. You will need to choose how you want to organize this memo with headings.
  4. By the end of class, send the email to the writers and the instructor.
