We are interested in understanding the fundamental role played by mechanical forces and physical constraints in cell function. In particular, we are interested in how mechanical factors influence, and are influenced by, cell adhesion to their micro-environment. Knowledge of this relationship is essential to understand cell function from survival to differentiation in various physiological contexts.
