KaaVonia Hinton-Johnson

Hinton-Johnson is an associate professor in the Department of Teaching & Learning and the director of the Tidewater Writing Project. Her scholarship focuses on literacy materials created specifically for blacks; literature for adults, children, and young adults, especially works labeled multicultural; critical biographies of black writers; and literary criticism. Her reviews of young adult and children's literature are published regularly in VOYA, ForeWord Magazine, and on her blog, < http://kaavoniahinton.blogspot.com>.
