National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Teaching Development Fellow

During fall 2011, I served as a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Teaching Development Fellow. This opportunity, designed to support the development of teaching, allowed me to expand the content of a course I teach that deals with the politics of the Civil Rights Movement. The aim of the project was to incorporate multidisciplinary and comparative perspectives in the study of the politics of the civil rights movement. In addition to a new course (offered fall 2012), this project yielded data and information to support future research on the global engagement of African Americans.
