Research Methods

Purpose

Because most of the writing that you have done in the past has been based upon research you have done in books and magazines, there was little need to explain how you conducted your research. But as your research process consist more of primary methods (e.g., experiments, surveys, observations), you will need to explain to your audience what you have done to conduct your research.

Freewrite I: The Methods Section

In your own words, summarize the process that Haas designed for collecting data. Specifically you will want to explain...

• What were her research questions?
• What did she do to answer these research questions?

Activity I: Setting Up A Blog

We will walk through the following documentation to set up a blog in Blogger. After you have set up your blog, you will want to write an initial introduction about yourself to introduce yourself to your peers and people beyond this course. Send the url for your blog to the instructor in the body of an email.
