About
Sachin Shetty is Executive Director of the Center for Secure and Intelligent Critical Systems within the Office of Enterprise Research and Innovation (OERI), and a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Old Dominion University. He received his Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation from Old Dominion University in 2007. His research lies at the intersection of computer networking, network security, and machine learning.
Since 2016 at Old Dominion University, his laboratory has received approximately $22 million in funding from the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, Army Research Office, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Air Force Research Lab, Office of Naval Research, and Boeing. He has authored and co-authored over 300 research articles in journals and conference proceedings and edited five books. He serves as ODU site lead on multiple federal Centers of Excellence in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, and in 2024 was appointed to the Corporate Board of Directors of TowneBank, advising on cybersecurity, data privacy, and risk management.
