MINT
Mint, Mentha longifolia, is native to the Middle East and is the most widely used of all of the herbs mentioned in Luke 11 and Matthew 23. In both Luke 11 and Matthew 23, Jesus links these spices with justice. Many Middle East dishes use large quantities of mint. In nature, mint is found growing along water courses, near springs, and in other wet places. Some species have been introduced to the United States when they may be minor weed problems in wetlands.
