CLASS SURVEY PROJECT

In order to integrate practical experience into the course, students will design and implement a survey to obtain data about student political attitudes and participation at ODU.  Students will be divided into three groups:  a) public attitudes, b) civic participation and c) political participation.  The purpose of this exercise is to encourage class participation and a better understanding of the subject matter of the course.

Particpation in this exercise fulfills partial requirements for the course.  If you fail to participate in this exercise you can receive partial credit for good cause.   However, since you have missed an in-class assignment which cannot be made up, you must submit a typed, double-spaced, two-page summary of the contributions you would have added to the class discussion. The summary is due no later than one week after the class discussion.

Focus:  Public Attitudes, Civic and Political Participation Among ODU Students
