COMM 412/512 Interpersonal Communication Theory and Research

An upper-level-undergraduate/beginning-gradaute level survey of classic and contemporary theories and research of communication in personal and social relationships across the lifespan. Copurse emphasizes communication as a means to facilitate conditions for development of positive relational outcomes. Through exposure to social scientific research studies of interpersonal communication students learn to become better consumers mass/popular literature pertaining to relationships, become better acquatined with research methods used to study interpersonal communication, as well as learn how to apply theories and research findings in their everyday interpersonal communication.
